 PSHE including RSHE

“Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow.”

Jawaharlal Nehru

At Bitterne CE Primary School, we strongly believe in the holistic development of every child. We strive to ensure that all children leave our school with the key knowledge, skills and understanding to help them make confident and informed choices. Above all, we endeavour to equip all pupils with the confidence and resilience to deal with the range of experiences they may encounter in life. Also, we support pupils in forming positive relationships and help them to understand the way they can make a positive contribution to society whilst demonstrating the school values of love, trust and forgiveness towards each other.

Our curriculum, teaches children how to stay healthy, safe and prepared for life – and work – in modern Britain and will in turn lead to healthy and fulfilling lives. We teach children the full content of the statutory Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education (RSHE) and Health Education guidance from the Government.  We will achieve this through providing engaging learning with high-quality lessons that reflect real life, include up-to-date topical themes and encourage discussion, debate and reflection.
