Design and Technology
Design Technology is an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject which has a vital role in contributing to a balanced curriculum. The overarching goal is to foster creativity, problem-solving abilities, and practical skills that prepare pupils for future success in a rapidly changing world. The children will be exposed to a rich variety of design challenges that spark their curiosity and initiative.
We believe high-quality DT lessons will inspire children to think independently, innovatively, use their imagination and develop their creative, procedural and technical understanding. Our DT curriculum is carefully sequenced to progressively develop pupils understanding of design principles, materials and techniques enabling them to apply their knowledge to their own projects. The children will have opportunities to research, generate and develop ideas, explore and investigate, make products and evaluate their work. Children will be exposed to a wide range of media and through this, they will develop their knowledge, skills, vocabulary and resilience.
