Class Teacher or Early Careers Teacher

Required from 1st September 2024

We are seeking to appoint a talented and inspirational Teacher or an ECT, who is forward thinking, creative and enthusiastic and who are determined to make a difference to every child in every lesson.

Bitterne CE Primary is a richly diverse and inclusive school. We pride ourselves on having a strong Christian ethos through our values of Love, Trust and Forgiveness that guide and support us in all that we do for our children, families and community. We celebrate, nurture and challenge each unique child in order that they are inspired by the world around them, have confidence to believe in themselves and in others and achieve the best they possibly can.

This role would also be suited to an ECT and we want to offer the opportunity for the successful candidate to start their role as soon recruitment checks have been completed.  We are passionate about supporting our ECTs to have a successful start in their teaching career and this will allow time for a comprehensive induction package and time for you to get to know the children, staff and the school.

We can offer you:

  • Children who embrace and demonstrate our core Christian values of Love, Trust and Forgiveness
  • Delightful, happy children who are responsible and keen to learn
  • Welcoming, supportive parents who work with the school
  • A fantastic, supportive team of colleagues who work together to provide the very best for our children
  • Opportunities for professional development
  • A workplace that supports well-being and work-life balance
  • A supportive team of Governors who engage fully with the school

The appointed candidate will:

  • Create a positive learning environment where children thrive and feel safe and secure.
  • Have a passion for learning that will inspire and motivate children to be independent thinkers.
  • Promote exceptionally high standards in children’s achievements and behaviours.
  • Plan and deliver well-structured learning experiences based on assessment for learning.
  • Be fully inclusive of all children, adapting teaching and learning to meet their needs.
  • Be a great team player who has positive relationships with colleagues, children and parents.
  • Possess and demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Have secure knowledge of safeguarding.

The post is for a full-time position.

Visits to the school are encouraged. Please contact Clare Horan (info@bitterneceprimary.net / 02380 499494) to arrange.

I look forward to receiving your applications.
